1. Open the My Pictures folder.

The first thing you need to do is to open the My Pictures folder in the My Documents folder in your computer. In the My Pictures folder, select the digital photo or photos that you wish to resize and forward via email. You can perform the selection by simply clicking on each digital photo while holding the CTRL key on your keyboard.

2. Click the Email the Selected Items link.

After selecting the digital photos you wish to resize and send, you can now start emailing them by clicking the Email the Selected Items link on the File and Folder Tasks pane at the left side of the screen. The Email the Selected Items link may also appear as Email this File or Email this Folder’s Files, depending on whether you selected a single photo or an entire folder.

3. Select the Make All My Pictures Smaller option.

Following step number two opens the Send Pictures via Email dialog box. In the said dialog box, choose the Make All My Pictures Smaller option to resize the digital photos you wish to send via email. If you want to specify how small you want your digital photos to be resized, just click the Show More Options link. Click the OK button to move on to step #4.

4. Send the resized digital photos.

Clicking the OK button prompts Windows XP to automatically activate your default email program, open your compose message window, and attach your resized digital photos. You just have to enter the recipient’s email address, the email’s subject heading, and the message’s content before you can finally send the email.

To activate the Send & Archive feature, click on the tiny dot beside the Enable option. Unofficially named Text Messaging (SMS) in Chat, the experimental SMS messaging feature from Gmail Labs is currently available for US-based users only.

Enabling text messaging in Google Chat

To use the experimental text messaging feature of Google Chat, you have to enable it in the Settings menu. On the upper right side of the Gmail homepage, click on the Settings link to open the Gmail Settings menu. Once the Settings menu is opened, click on the Labs tab to view the list of experimental features from Gmail Labs. Because the text messaging feature is on latter part of the list, you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page in order to view it. After locating the text messaging feature, click on the tiny circle before the ENABLE option to activate the Google Chat SMS feature. Remember to click the SAVE CHANGES button at the bottom of the page to successfully activate the selected feature.

Sending text messages via Google Chat

The first thing you need to do in sending a text message via Google Chat is to choose a contact from your Google Chat buddy list on the left-side of the screen. After the Gchat box pops up, type in the text message that you wish to send via SMS. Before pressing the ENTER button on your keyboard, click on the Options menu at the bottom of the Gchat pop up and choose the SEND SMS option from the list.
