How to Change Your Gmail Password

Is your current Gmail password complicated and obscure enough to be guessed by your friends? Well, if you’re one of those people who use their childhood nicknames or favorite colors as their passwords, then maybe this is the right time to change them.

Here is a step-by-step process on how you can change your current Gmail password

1. Open the Settings menu.

The first step in changing your Gmail password is to open the Gmail Settings menu. You can do this by clicking on the SETTINGS link on the upper right corner of the Gmail homepage.

2. Choose the Accounts tab.

Once the Settings menu is opened, click on the Accounts tab to view the available options that you can use to change or modify your Gmail account settings.

3. Click the Google Account Settings link.

On the fourth row on the Gmail Accounts tab, you will find the Google Account Settings link. Click this link to open the Google Accounts page where you can reset and change you current Gmail Password.

4. Select the Change Password option.

Upon opening the Google Accounts page, find the Change Password option on the Personal Settings column. The Change Password option is seen as an underlined phrase in a blue-colored font. Click this option to finally open the Change Password page.

5. Change the current password.

There are four blank fields on the Change Password page: current password, security question, new password, and confirm new password. Unless you forgot your current password, just leave the field for the security question blank and enter the accurate alphanumeric symbols for the other three. Don’t forget to click the Save button to confirm and finalize the password change.
