MailAssistant: Your Personal Email Reader and Notifier

In the early days, the go-to guy in news and updates was the town crier. As the official messenger of the town, the town crier was responsible for reading out any special announcements that the town council wishes to forward to the townspeople. Today, however, important announcements are conveniently forwarded to a group of people via email. And because almost everybody today has their own personal email accounts, the services of a town crier are no longer in demand.

The legacy of a town crier, however, did not end with the birth of email systems. In fact, the creative team from PPP Infotech Ltd developed MailAssistant, an innovative software that allows you to listen to the content of your email messages as if they were read by a town crier.

Reading email messages

In MailAssistant, the one responsible for reading out your email messages is a 3D animated character. The 3D animated character, which can be anyone from a blue-skinned genie or a white-bearded wizard (depending on which one you will choose), has been especially designed with a natural-sounding voice to help you understand your message more clearly.

Notifying email alerts

Aside from reading out email messages in a natural-sounding voice, the 3D animated character from MailAssistant is also capable of notifying you whenever your email account receives a new message. Therefore, it provides you with a quick preview of the origin, the subject, the size, and the abstract of each email as it arrives in your inbox. MailAssistant also allows you to either save or delete the abstract of each email message without the hassle of downloading it.

Hey Mr. Congressman! Did You Receive my Email?

Making an appointment with the House representative of your district is never easy. Your congressman, after all, is a very busy man. Because your chances of landing a personal appointment are slim to none, you have to find an alternative way of conveying your messages to your congressman. One effective way of establishing communication with your representative is by sending a message to his or her email account.

The House of Representatives has launched a new email service that allows the citizens of the United States of America to forward their inquiries, concerns, suggestions, praises, or criticisms to their respective congressmen online. It’s called Write Your Representative.

Sending important emails

The first step in sending an email to your state representative is to click the Write Your Representative link on the upper right part of the House of Representatives homepage. On the Writer Your Representative webpage, which was directed from the eponymous link on the homepage, you are required to do three things: select your state from the pull-down menu, enter your zip code and 4-digit zip code extension on the blank field, and verify your information on the Contact My Representative button. If the details you specified are accurate, you will be directed to the contact information page of the congressman in your district.

The contact information page of your congressman also features a “Send a Message to (Name of Congressman)” link that directs you to the official website of your congressman upon clicking. The direct link to the Email-Your-Congressman page where you can enter your personal information and your important message to the congressman is usually found on the Contact Information page of the Congressman’s official website.

Beware! Your Boss Can Read Your Emails

Reading or sending personal emails using company computers is heavily discouraged in most offices. It is quite surprising though, that many employees still try to sneak a message or two when the boss is not looking. So, if you’re the kind of employee who tries to squeeze in a bit of Gmail theme changes or Yahoo! Mail folder customizations in your already busy work schedule, then do not act too surprised if you receive a memo from your boss.

Just keeping an eye on you

Sorry to break it to you, but you cannot keep your online activities as private as you hoped. The information you send across your company’s network, after all, is probably monitored by your boss. Therefore, as the Big Brother who watches over the entire workforce, your boss can easily determine whether or not you’re worth every penny on your paycheck. So unless you want to receive an hour-long lecture on work etiquette from your boss, restrict your computer use to work-related purposes only.

Only monitoring the flow of operations

Speaking of work etiquette, it’s also quite discourteous to snoop on other people’s personal email accounts. But before you spark yet another debate on Internet privacy, you have to remember that it is completely legal for your company to monitor your online activities. All forms of electronic communications that you make on the company computers, in any case, are considered as the company’s product. Besides, it’s not as if your boss is interested in knowing every single detail in your personal life. Your boss only checks your online activities to monitor the flow of Internet operations in the office.
