Frances Fisher Apologizes for SAG Awards Boycott Email

Actress Frances Fisher is in trouble for sending an email. Well, it’s not just any email. It is an email to prevent eight actors from winning a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award. As a member of the guild, Fisher is given the opportunity to choose the next set of winners for the upcoming SAG Awards on January 25th. However, she is not given the right to encourage her co-members to refuse their votes on particular nominees.

Encouraging to boycott

In the email, Fisher is encouraging her fellow SAG members to withhold their votes from eight actors who are up for a SAG award. The reason for Fisher’s proposed boycott is the eight actors’ opposition to the union’s plan of staging yet another Screen Actors Guild Strike. The eight actors who were singled out in the email were the following:

* Alec Baldwin (Male Actor in a Comedy Series nominee for 30 Rock)
* Josh Brolin (Male Actor in a Supporting Role nominee for Milk)
* Steve Carell (Male Actor in a Comedy Series nominee for The Office)
* Sally Field (Female Actor in a Drama Series nominee for Brothers and Sisters)
* Michael C. Hall (Male Actor in a Drama Series nominee for Dexter)
* Susan Sarandon (Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries nominee for Bernard and Doris)
* Tony Shalhoub (Male Actor in a Comedy Series nominee for Monk)
* Kevin Spacey (Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries nominee for Recount).

Asking to forgive

Upon learning that her email reached the wrong inboxes, Fisher issued a public apology for the eight actors who were mentioned in the email. She even said that she was sorry for any discomfort that she may have caused.

The eight actors who were singled out in the email are yet to release a statement regarding the issue.

Is your current Gmail password complicated and obscure enough to be guessed by your friends? Well, if you’re one of those people who use their childhood nicknames or favorite colors as their passwords, then maybe this is the right time to change them.

Here is a step-by-step process on how you can change your current Gmail password

1. Open the Settings menu.

The first step in changing your Gmail password is to open the Gmail Settings menu. You can do this by clicking on the SETTINGS link on the upper right corner of the Gmail homepage.

2. Choose the Accounts tab.

Once the Settings menu is opened, click on the Accounts tab to view the available options that you can use to change or modify your Gmail account settings.

3. Click the Google Account Settings link.

Resize and Email Your Digital Photos Using Windows XP

Are you having problems with attaching digital photos that are too large to be attached in your email message? If you do, then you better read the following steps on how to resize and email your digital photos using Windows XP.

1. Open the My Pictures folder.

The first thing you need to do is to open the My Pictures folder in the My Documents folder in your computer. In the My Pictures folder, select the digital photo or photos that you wish to resize and forward via email. You can perform the selection by simply clicking on each digital photo while holding the CTRL key on your keyboard.

2. Click the Email the Selected Items link.

After selecting the digital photos you wish to resize and send, you can now start emailing them by clicking the Email the Selected Items link on the File and Folder Tasks pane at the left side of the screen. The Email the Selected Items link may also appear as Email this File or Email this Folder’s Files, depending on whether you selected a single photo or an entire folder.

3. Select the Make All My Pictures Smaller option.

Following step number two opens the Send Pictures via Email dialog box. In the said dialog box, choose the Make All My Pictures Smaller option to resize the digital photos you wish to send via email. If you want to specify how small you want your digital photos to be resized, just click the Show More Options link. Click the OK button to move on to step #4.

4. Send the resized digital photos.

Clicking the OK button prompts Windows XP to automatically activate your default email program, open your compose message window, and attach your resized digital photos. You just have to enter the recipient’s email address, the email’s subject heading, and the message’s content before you can finally send the email.

Organize Your Inbox Using the Send & Archive feature from Gmail Labs

Archiving an email reply is a very tedious task: you have to compose a reply message, send it to its rightful recipient, and then find it in your inbox before you can finally save it to your archives. If you want a hassle-free process of archiving an email reply, you should probably check out the new Send & Archive feature from Gmail Labs.

Organizing the Gmail inbox

Send & Archive is an experimental feature from Gmail Labs that helps you organize your Gmail inbox by allowing you to forward and archive an email message with just one click. Enabling the Send & Archive feature automatically adds a Send and Archive button to the compose box every time you reply to an email. The Send and Archive button, when added, can be found before the Send button.

Enabling the Send & Archive feature

The first thing you need to do to enable the Send & Archive feature from Gmail Labs is to click on the Settings link that is found at the upper right side of your Gmail page. Clicking the Settings link activates the menu where you can change or modify your Gmail settings. To view a list of the experimental features that are currently offered via Gmail Labs, click on the Labs tab in the Settings menu. Because the Send & Archive feature is found near the end of the list, you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page in order to see it. To activate the Send & Archive feature, click on the tiny dot beside the Enable option. Don’t forget to click the Save button before you check the appearance of the Send and Archive button on the compose box.

How to Change Your Yahoo! Mail Password

Changing your Yahoo! Mail password, if not inevitable, is necessary. Regularly changing your password not only keeps your password from being guessed by your friends, but it also protects your account from being accessed by phishers or scammers. Here is a step-by-step instruction on how you can change your current Yahoo! Mail password.

Log in to your Yahoo! account

The first step in changing your Yahoo! password is, of course, to log-in to your Yahoo! Mail account. After all, logging in to your Yahoo! account is the only way you can modify your account settings.

Select the Account Info option

Point your cursor to the “Hi, [username]” link on the upper right corner of your Yahoo! Mail homepage and wait for a drop-down menu to appear. Choose the Account Info option to open your Yahoo! Mail account information page. If you are using the All-New Yahoo! Mail instead of the Classic Yahoo! Mail, you will find the “Hi, [username]” link not on the upper right corner of the homepage but on the upper left side. The position of the “Hi, [username]” link, however, is not the only difference between the layout of the All-New and the Classic Yahoo! Mail. The Account Info option has been renamed Edit My Account in the newer version.

Click on the Change Password link

You can find the Change Password link on the upper part of your Yahoo! Mail account information page. It is situated just below your Yahoo! Mail address. Clicking this usually blue-highlighted link opens the Change Your Yahoo! Password page.

Enter a new Yahoo! Mail password

There are three blank fields on the Change Your Yahoo! Password page: a field for your current password, your new password, and a confirmation of your new password. Enter the correct letters or numbers into their corresponding fields and click the SAVE button to successfully change your Yahoo! Mail password.
