Email Passwords You Should Avoid

Choosing a password for your email account is something that you need to do with much caution. Your password, after all, is responsible for ensuring the protection and security of your email account. A poorly selected password makes your email account more vulnerable to hackers and spammers. Here are some of the categories that you should avoid when choosing a password.

* Your username

A password is supposed to be a secret – and how can you keep it a secret when it is exactly the same as your email username? Sure, it is easy to remember, but it is also easy to guess. After all, it won’t take a hacker long enough to figure out that you decided to use your username as your password.

* Your crush

The only person who needs to know your password is you. It can be as eccentric or as crazy as you want, but make sure that it is everything but obvious. With this in mind, refrain from using the name of your crush as your password. Your friends, after all, will guess it in a matter of seconds. So, if the whole world knows that you are in love with Robert Pattinson, then do not use his name as your password.

* Your birthday

Your birthday might be the only thing in this world (aside from your name, of course) that you will never forget, but it is not a good idea to use it as your password. Your birthday, after all, is the third most obvious idea for a password — the first two being your username and your crush.

Monitor Your Children’s Email Activities with ZooBuh!

Children today are spending too much time on the computer, often neglecting their chores and schoolwork in the long run. What makes it worse is that parents like you have very limited capability to keep track of your children’s online activities. The good news is that a company recently developed a webmail provider that gives you full coverage of your children’s email activities. Called ZooBuh!, this webmail provider not only teaches your children to  manage their emails, but also allows you to monitor their activities. Here are some of the things you can do with your children’s ZooBuh! email accounts.

* Restrict logins

What makes ZooBuh! email so great is that it allows you to restrict the login time of your children. Yes, you have the ability to choose the specific time frame when your kids are allowed to access their ZooBuh! account. So, no matter how badly they want to check their emails, they cannot access their ZooBuh! account if you don’t want them to.

* Manage contacts

Another benefit of using ZooBuh! email is that it allows you to have an access to your children’s Contact Manager, the feature that organizes your children’s email contacts. If you enable the “ALLOW EMAIL FROM CONTACT MANAGER ONLY” option, then the only emails that your children will receive are those from the people on their contact list. This not only helps your children filter their emails, but it also protects their ZooBuh! account from spammers and phishers.

* View messages

Thanks to the Parental Control feature of ZooBuh! Email, you can also check your children’s email folder whenever you want to. Therefore, you can easily delete all those incoming emails that you think are inappropriate for your children’s viewing.

Create Holiday Cards with MailChimp Templates!

Having trouble coming up with a holiday card design? If you are, then you’re in luck because self-service email provider MailChimp has recently launched a collection of holiday email templates to help you spruce up your email in time for the holidays. The holiday email templates, which are especially designed by the MailChimp team, feature a variety of seasonal images that include everything from snowman and penguin cartoons to snowflake and pine tree cutouts. Here is the step-by-step instruction on how to create a holiday email using MailChimp templates.

* Choose a holiday theme

The first step in creating a holiday email is to select the template that you want to use in your email. You have 10 holiday email templates to choose from: two of which have a Thanksgiving theme and the remaining eight have a Christmas/Hanukkah theme. To move on to the next step in creating a MailChimp holiday email, just click the “USE THIS ONE” button at the bottom the holiday email theme thumbnail of your choice.

* Tweak the email template

In the fields on top of the page, enter the text that you wish to see in the header of your holiday email. Because it is the “TWEAK YOUR TEMPLATE” step of the creative process, you can customize the text by choosing a specific font type and font size. To see what your holiday email looks like, click the “UPDATE” button below the header fields. If you are pleased with the layout of your holiday email, just click on the orange “DONE” button on the upper right side of the page.

* Send, download, or save the holiday email

After adding your personal touch to the holiday template of your choice, you have to decide what you want to do with your holiday email: send it, download it, or save it. If you want to send it, just enter your email address in the “SEND IT TO ME” field and you will receive your holiday email after a few seconds. To download, all you have to do is to click the “DOWNLOAD THE TEMPLATE” link on top of the “SEND IT TO ME” field. But if you want to save it to your MailChimp account, you just have to click on the “SAVE IT” button in the center of the page.
